Transit Buses

Similar to trucks, the increasing number of buses using King Edward Avenue and Rideau Street have contributed to a degradation of local quality of life. Because of their size and their diesel engines, buses pollute the air with high amounts of particulate matter, make noise, cause vibrations, and are a safety concern. While the Task Force supports transit, it also believes that more efficient ways can be found to manage the system to reduce the number of buses in the downtown core.
